Spring 2018 MVP Memorial Foundation Leadership Awards

Paul VI Catholic High School – MVP Leadership Award winner Joseph Paquete will attend Georgetown University.
Stars Baseball –Marshall High School senior, Patrick Halligan, will attend and play baseball at George Mason University.

Matt was a 16-year-old sophomore at Langley High School when he died of viral myocarditis.  He was a promising baseball player, a respected student and a friend to many throughout Northern Virginia.  He also attended Paul VI Catholic High School as a freshman and played baseball with the Stars Baseball organization.

Along with supporting veterans causes and funding research and awareness around myocarditis, Matt’s foundation recently presented $2,000 leadership awards to three well-rounded high school seniors who model the traits we valued in Matt - compassion for others, strong work ethic and a passion for excellence in endeavors outside the classroom.

In the past few weeks we presented our third year of  MVP Foundation Leadership Awards to: Joseph Paquete of Paul VI High School, Patrick Halligan of Marshall High School, Will Brzezinski of Langley High School.

Congratulations to these students who are role models and to their great families.

Langley High School senior Will Brzezinski is headed to Tulane University.
