Hi I am Sarah Van Houten, Matt’s girlfriend. I cant think of just one story that will encompass how kind, wonderful, funny and loving a person Matt was. One of Matt’s best qualities was that he was so passionate about everything he did. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart. He also loved baseball. I could tell by the way his face lit up when it was talked about or mentioned. He was excited about the baseball season and being pulled up for varsity baseball tryouts. One thing that everyone can agree on is Matt was one of the most loved people on the planet. Not one person hated him, not one. I think that shows just how much of a great person he was. I remember it was really rough trying to walk in the hallway with him because every 5 seconds someone would say Hi, playfully shove him or do some weird handshake thing. Matt was a very charismatic person. He was also very good looking. Trust me, there was a line of girls waiting for Matt and I to break up. Let me tell you he was the only person that could rock a backwords hat and light washed jeans that well. I wasn’t to fond of them at first but they have grown on me. I am so thankful for the 11 years of friendship and I couldn’t ask for a better boy friend. I am so lucky to have experienced his love and friendship and I know he is looking down on us right now with a huge smile on his face saying wow, I knew everyone was obsessed with me!
